Additional information

This is Scubapro's flagship MK25 first stage regulator coupled with the revamped G250V second stage. I have been diving it on a long primary hose so you would need to get a shorter hose to return it to a more 'conventional' configuration (I gave away the one it came with).
As with all safety critical equipment I would recommend a service for your peace of mind.

Costs €550 new

Reviews about Scubapro MK25 G250V

Scubapro MK25 G250V:

SCUBAPRO introduces the G250V: Back and Better than Ever!

Our renowned G250 balanced adjustable second stage is back and better than ever, redesigned as a Vintage edition with tons of technical improvements. Teamed with our best performing balanced piston first stage, the MK25, the G250V is the answer to:

·Die-hard G250 owners who have enjoyed it for years.

· Technical divers who appreciate the unbeatable performance and size of the G250, but want evolution.

·Cold water divers needing better anti-freeze resistance.

·All divers ready to try a classic product redesigned for the modern world.
MK25 FIRST STAGE
SCUBAPRO has been the leader in the evolution of piston controlled first stages since its beginning; the MK25 carries on this heritage with an array of patented features ensuring unfailing performance. The MK25 is a balanced piston first stage, our absolute top performer. It is a superior regulator thanks to its ultra stable intermediate pressure resulting in an extremely punctual and constantly high delivery of air. This means instant airflow at any tank pressure and water temperature for a real carefree dive.

THE PISTON TECHNOLOGY. The general advantage of a piston first stage lies in its reliability and reduced maintenance requirements, due to an effective but simpler mechanism with less moving parts. More importantly, no other design can reach the high air delivery rate of a balanced piston controlled first stage.

·Air balanced flow-through piston- First stages with air balanced pistons deliver significantly more air to the second stage than any other first stage, while their performance is totally unaffected by the changing tank pressure. A balanced piston allows the use of lighter and more sensitive components, resulting in ultra fast breathing response, instant delivery of air on demand, and extra high air flow, especially in low tank pressure ranges. The tired diver benefits from a smoother breathing regulator during the ascent or deco stop. Balanced piston first stages are the first choice of demanding sport divers and professionals. A balanced piston performs equally in warm and cold water environments.

·Two opposite high pressure ports- The arrangement of high and low pressure hoses is crucial to diving comfort. Two opposite high pressure ports allow for an individual positioning of the first stage (pointing up or down). This allows the diver to position the gauges either on the right or left side and increases the freedom of movement for head and neck.

·Multiple low pressure ports- For ultimate freedom in the arrangement of low pressure hoses, the MK25 accommodates five HF (high flow) ports on a swiveling turret, which allows for 360 degree swivel of hoses. High flow ports deliver about 15% more air than conventional ports.

·DIN/INT first stage configurations- To ensure worldwide compatibility, all SCUBAPRO regulator systems are available in a 232bar INT version as well as 300bar DIN versions.

·Externally adjustable intermediate pressure- Allows authorized SCUBAPRO service technicians to quickly fine tune or make adjustments after maintenance without the need to disassemble the first stage.

·Chrome plated brass body- machined marine grade, for excellent resistance to corrosion and long lasting robustness.

· Cold Water Diving With SCUBAPRO- Diving conditions can be drastically different, including extreme cold water and ambient air temperatures, posing the possibility of a regulator "freezing". Therefore, resistance to freezing is imperative for the diver. All SCUBAPRO regulator systems are CE approved for 300bar cold water diving. Some models go even beyond this super stringent qualification and have successfully been tested in extreme cold diving conditions at less than 2°C. As a specific anti-freezing measure, SCUBAPRO engineers have designed special anti-freeze components and features for the MK25 first stages for optimal cold water diving. The ribs act as a radiator to increase the surface area of heat transfer from the water to warm up the internal parts that have been drastically cooled down by the gas pressure drop. For cold water diving, SCUBAPRO’s second stages feature precision molded carbon fiber and technopolymer valve housing and components. They even exceed the CE cold water norm. In addition, these components contribute to their lightweight features and corrosion resistance.

SECOND STAGE REGULATORS
A second stage regulator must translate natural breathing behaviour into mechanical reality. A high quality second stage can significantly reduce stress and enhance diver safety by providing smooth, low-effort breathing response, resulting in ample yet controllable quantities of air.
The designation balanced and classic downstream are also distinguishing marks for second stages and again imply ultimate flow performance and stability in addition to reliability, simplicity and solid performance.

SCUBAPRO introduces the G250V: Back and Better than Ever!
Our renowned G250 balanced adjustable 2nd stage is back and better than ever, redesigned as a Vintage version with tons of technical improvements.

·G250V has improved the breathing performance by 50%. Working inhalation & exhalation are easier and stress free. Comparing the G250HP which required 1,29 Joules/Ltr with the new G250V requiring 0,68 J/Ltr means you spend less energy to breathe the same volume of air.

·G250V is a full metal system- composed of a full metal inlet tube, metal orifice, metal knob plus a metal hose connector/heat exchanger. Serious construction for serious divers plus high cold-water resistance.

·New self contained cover concept- reminiscent of the classic G250, but much stronger for years of trouble-free diving. Also easily dismountable even underwater, thanks to the new no-locking pin system. Keeps you in control, no matter what type of diving you enjoy.

·New VIVA knob- for easier Venturi Adjustment, even with thick gloves.

·G250V systems- like all of our regulator systems, are protected by individual serialization & a Limited Lifetime Warranty.
